Your OBD2 reader should read the monitors that the emmission place looks at.

My reader will blink the monitors that need to be reset and only the monitors that your model car uses.

I am not sure about your year car, but a 2000 S40 resets the monitors with a couple of days of normal start and drive then shutdown cycles. I did see the convoluted procedure that was recommended on this site. Try a search for something like "drive cycle"

The cycle goes something like drive 34 mph then slow down without hitting the brakes then speed up to 55 mph for 12.5 minutes with the windows down and the radio turned to a rock station. THAT'S NOT REALLY THE PROCEDURE !!!

Just as bad though.
