Agree with Profile. 93's are gettiing long in the tooth and unreliable. Go back over the posts for last month and read about the 93 problems. 96-97 are the best years. I just bought a 97R with 48.9 on it. Was very proud. Until I stopped at a fast food and let the engine run, and I heard the A/C pump cycling on and off every few seconds. Low refrigerant. Low refrigerant means new evaporator, which is $1500 at Volvo for them to do the job. Whatever one you buy, take it out for a run, let it sit at idle and listen for the little click click sound coming from the dash behind the glove box (that's where the A/C relay is). If you hear it click on and off every ten or fifteen seconds, you'll know what you're up against. If it's not pumping really cold air when it's on, that should arouse your suspicions. Even with low refrigerant the A/C system will put out cold air, but check the two pipes coming out of the back of the firewall that carry the refrigerant to the evaporator--they're on the passenger side of the car. They should be cold and sweaty. Of course if your seller has added a can of refrigerant there's no way to tell if the system is okay. Dick
