Disassemble carefully and clean thoroughly with electronics cleaner on all contact points. Disassembly inside a transparent drycleaner bag or the like may avoid time on hands and knees looking for small parts.
Prying-type tools made from ground down sections of coathanger may be useful for both opening and holding portions of the assembly.
I haven't taken any 850 switches apart, but all this worked well on 960 window switches.
