No its not part of the controller. It just screws into the side of the EGR valve body itself. Its on the battery side of the EGR valve body about the size of a nickle with a heat shrink wrapped pair of wires coming out of it. The short length of wire plugs into the engine bay harness. Check the condition of the plug contacts, unplug it and clean the contacts. It pretty rare for the temp sensor itself to ever go bad, its usually a buildup of corrosion on the plug contacts that kills the connection. You have to remove the intercooler top hose and maybe the plastic cover over the throttle pulley to get to the sensor. It's a rare item to fail so you'll probably have to get it from the dealer if you do need one. But clean the contacts and clear the code and see if it comes back. Good luck.

Mike
