You should be getting around 20-22 mpg around town and well over 25 mpg on the highway. You should be using premium gas. Check and clean the throttle body, clean air filter, check and clean the electrical connection to the AMM, listen for any vacuum leaks. Depending on the miles that are on the car, you may want to do a tune up. Don't forget to flush the tranny fluid once in a while.
