Remove the console, again. Unplug and replug the two large wire connectors under the ash tray. Do not be gentle, they need force to plug together tightly.
Sounds like your lockout is not getting any juice while in park. If you move the shifter to neutral you should be able to start it, but not take the key out of the lock.
