Lamp Failure Warning Light 850 1996

i had this intermitantly for a couple of weeks, in my case it would be on when starting the car..stay that way for 1/2 hour or so of driving..then go out...

REALLY bugged me, tightened the bulbs, replaced the back bulbs everything...

in frustration i finally got busy with a meter...tested the bulbs...the bgrounds..them lives and came up with ZIP...then one night i noticed no glow from the high level brake on the boot lid....went and tapped it...and it came on... tested it everything ok....????

when i looked REALLY carefully the bulb had a broken element that could JUST touch and form a curuit...presumably little arc etc got it hot enough to expand and form a full curcuit, but when cold it was JUST to short to make good contact..
