replace the rad? 850 1996

What is the "average" life span of the 850's radiator? Is the rad on the "sure to fail" list like it is on the 740's? Reason for asking is I put off changing the rad on our old 740 and it failed on vacation 300 miles from home and ruined the tranny in the process. Our 850 is 8 years old. Should I bite the bullet and replace it when I flush the cooling system next week? I didn't find much about it in the archives.
