Had a similar (well, okay - the exact same) problem a couple of weeks ago. Checked all the "basic" car stuff -- fuel delivery, spark, etc. At the verge of giving up, I reasoned maybe it was just badly flooded.
Try this:
Remove fuel pump fuse.
Crank the car over about three to four times with wide open throttle for a good 8-10 seconds each time. (Hopefully you still have enough juice in your battery after probably repeatedly trying to start it.)
Let it sit for a minute or two.
. . . . .
Replace fuse, get back in car, crank with patience yet persistence with the pedal to the floor. If it was flooded, it will come to life after a slightly longer than usual crank.
If that doesn't work, you may want to try one more time from the beginning. If it doesn't work a second time, your car probably isn't flooded.
Best of luck
Jeremy
