what gives!!! 850

The squeaking noise could be a number of things. Did you buy the car from a Volvo dealer or an independent dealer? Volvo dealer should be able to do a brake job with no squeaks or squeals. An independent may have just repleced the brake pads, which is not recommended. If you are mechanically inclined, you can do a brake job yourself. Volvo brakes are pretty straight forward and easy to work on. Check out FCP Groton for the parts....

Also check out EBay as they like to put a lot of parts on there at good prices. I saw four rotors, pads and steel brake lines for under $300 the other day.

As for the ABS light, you need Vic Rocha....

He will charge a sixth of what the dealer wants and his turn around time is really fast. Of course you will need to take the unit off, but with the correct tool, it is about a fifteen minute job. I got the correct socket at NAPA for $12.

Hope this helps.
