850 Electronic Climate Control - A/C issues 850 1993

I think you need a formal introduction to the wonderful world of Lousy Volvo AC Evaporators! And boy are they lousy. Most of them develop leaks. On a 240, it probably takes a couple of hours AT MOST to replace the evap, but the 850 was built AROUND the evaporator. It takes a complete dash removal (and I do mean complete) just to get to the evaporator. We're talking at least $1200 to replace.

Fortunately there are some good products out there that will, when injected into the AC system, seal the leaks -- for a while. Eventually, you'll either have to sell the car, or plunk down the cash.

:)
