Chirpping Noise in Dash/Shimmy in Front End V70-XC70

2001 V70 had a strong chirp coming from under dash—it was the fan motor bearing. (Chirping louder in cold weather and more evident over bumps.) The first replacement also chirped, but noise is gone now.

The numerous front end probs I have experienced have all been due to stabilizer links. Or is it really tie rod ends? Or are they the same thing? And there is a bushing at each wheel that wears out.
