Vent hose ??? V70-XC70 2001

Since there is no place to connect the hose on the back of the radiator, I can not restore it to how it was. As explained by Lucky, does it make sense to ventilate and cool the ECU with hot air from behind the radiator?

The way I figure it, if the radiator fan is blowing on the radiator in front, then the vent hose from the ECU box attached behind the fan would suck hot air out of the ECU box. This assumes that the hose is attached behind the radiator fan. Since my radiator fan was replaced due to Recall No 110, there is no place to attach the hose to the radiator. According to Lucky, Recall No 110 deemed the vent hose unnecessary.
