My 850GLT Wagon had this issue on the driver's side door. They called it a door check. It was exactly as you describe. The dealer fixed it twice (under warranty) and we had a body shop fix it another time (cost us $100). It never completely stopped "clicking" and a year later it cracked again. This time my husband removed the "stop". I don't think he had to take the door off. It is trouble free now, but the door swings freely. I have to be careful not to swing it open. Be carefull it doesn't hit you when parked on a slope!
