i dont know what either of you are talking about, to remove the instrument cluster you take the top of the dash off then then undo the plugs for the cluster then the two metal clips that hold the cluster in place ect etc...
the only airbag you might have to disconnect is if there is a passenger airbag fitted, but you never need to disconect the drivers side or remove the wheel or anything.
even if you have to disconect a passenger airbag then as long as the key is turned off and not turned on while the instrument cluster or airbag is disconected then there will be no problem with lights or fault codes etc..
