Trip meter and odometer don't advance; all other combined instrument functions are OK 850 1994

It is the odometer gear failure. Very common. Got to odometergears.com to get a replacement gear. Then check volvospeed.com to see how to remove the instrument cluster to get at the odometer. I also suggest replacing the dashboard bulbs while you are in there. I didn;t do that, now I have a burned out one and have to go back in.
