AC problem, not thermostat 850 1996

Yes I'm following your madness, but can you explain why the temp working normally when the AC is not in use???? If the ECT or Thermostat are bad, then the temp should not work at all circumstances.
It is not the price concerned me, but going back and forth to a Volvo shop is no fun at all. I would rather do it me self.
Running rich?? definitely not me. I would not be writing this if I'm rich.
