S40 2001

I have had nothing but trouble with the brakes on my 2001 S40. Since I leased ther car I have replaced the front and rear brakes four times in three years with only 36,000 miles on it. I also had to replace the tires. I have one more (long) year left on my lease and I think I will have to consider another car. I got the Volvo because of the safety factors and reputation. I wrote Volvo and the answer I received was that the pads are soft. If they know that the brakes need replacing quickly they should install an idiot light to avoid ruining the rotors. Has anyone else had this problem?

Claire
