ABS interchangability 850

I'm not sure if you had a chance to read the information I have on my website regarding the issues with the ATE (Volvo) ABS control units.
Anyway, if you replace yours with a used one, you will have the same problem.

The controllers are failing as early as 38,000 miles and some have failed at
over 100,000 miles. The average is 80,000 miles.
The question is not if your controller will fail. It will eventually fail
after you reach 60,000 miles.
Having said that, we have also noticed that cars with low mileage that are used for short trips will also suffer the same failure as the ones with high mileage. There seems to be a 5 year life span in the original design, when the high mileage is not reached.

Your core is actually only worth money to you. Let me explain. I upgrade and repair a lot of ABS control units 97% of the units are repairable, people prefer to get their own unit back.
Volvo owners a becoming aware of the issues with the ABS units and what their options are, warranty, buy a new one or have theirs upgraded and repaired.

Used units are not selling on eBay anymore the way they used to sell a couple of years ago.
