WEIRD NOISE S70

Hello,

Recently my 98 S70 Glt starts making a noise like a turbine driven something 30 seconds after starting. It continues for a minute then dies down. It never made this noise before. Does something need a lube job, or is something on its way out? I don't want to be taken for a ride with the dealer mechanic.
