Wow, thanks for the detailed response Hamfisted.
It sounds like there are two knock sensors, a forward and a rear.
Does this sound right? Are they easily discernable? You state to remove the
engine cooling fan but that would seem to be towards the front of the car.
I am not sure where this part is.
