Yea, $150.+ is pretty steep for a tool that only turns a stupid light out. I haven't seen any besides the two you mention either. I think I'd get a roll of electricians tape from Home Depot for 50 cents and tape over it or pull the cluster and remove the bulb if it bothered me which it doesn't. FWIW, Alex Peper's OBD II Carcode software has in the write up that it will reset service lights on 96-97 850's. I bought this in lieu of a "code reader" and have had good results with it ( as in it has paid for itself already) but haven't tried to reset a service light yet.
