What is the general experience people have had with these transmissions? I've got 65000 on my 2000. Everything on it is great except I made a HUGE mistake.
Since my local dealer is extremely overpriced and always backed up, I figured that one of the "Instant Oil Change" places could change the transmission fluid. That will probably turn into a $3500 mistake. Turns out, this place uses the same machine on transmissions as does they do on coolant replacement. Not only is there a lawsuit in the making, I'm out way too much money in the short term.
Everything was fine on this car (except the throttle body) until I took it into this other place. These are are over engineered machines, but surely there is a way to fix this problem without a new transmission? Does Volvo recommend a new tranny whenever there is any noise? What about overhauls or something cheaper?
Any thoughts?
