I own a 2004 2.5 Turbo Titanium and a family member owns the 2003 V70 XC with 2.4T engine. The 2.4T is rated at slightly less power. When driving that car it feels distinctly less powerful. Part of that sensation is due to it running an AWD system. Another, and I think more significant reason is the AWD suspension itself. It is decidedly softer and somewhat less precise feeling than the FWD. So when you hit the gas there is more give in the suspension and you don't get as much immediate push back into the seat.
