Do not panic. And do not go to the dealer for the repair. I had the same problem, Dealer wanted $400 to put on a new boot (keeping the same CV joint) After doing some checking, I found that most auto parts stores sell rebuilt axles, which have a new CV boot, for $60. The cost to put in was 2 hours shop time. Much better to get a rebuilt one than just a boot replacement. But don't rush, even if joint gets bad, it will start to click, but you still have time because you will get a rebuilt axle and you won't have the one presently in that car anymore.
