try tapping it with a screw driver 850 1995

I had a similiar problem on my Audi (basically same type of switch).
Figuring the the switch was just stuck I gave it a couple gentle wacks and it
fixed my problem and saved me $400 (for now). Might want to try that first and see how far you can get before replacing the whole unit.
