upgrade my SC-816 Audio System S70

I have just purchased my first Volvo, 1998 S70 with 42,500 miles. The audio system came with a single load CD player. The controls indicate that the system can handle an upgrade to a CD changer. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this upgrade and if it is something I can do myself with an after market changer or only with a Volvo CD changer. Thanks in advance for the help and I am thrilled to join the "Brick Brotherhood"!
