850R Rusty Dipstick

Well, I posted a lenghty desription in the RWD forum by mistake. We have 97 850R, 85K, used, excellent maintenance and records, one owner, but dipstick and tube are very rusty all the way up! Rest of motor/car very clean, no sign of moisture or coolant in pan or under fill cap, South Texas car, so no rust down here. What gives? Can I pull the tube and replace this easily?
