Positioning distributor rotor V70-XC70 1998

My V70 T5 will hit 90k miles soon. The spark plug wires, distributor rotor and cap have not been changed to date, the engine has been running without any problem, so should I plan on changing these as part of the 90k tune-up? Volvospeed Bay 13 says these should normally last to 100k miles.

For changing the rotor, the Haynes manual says: Remove the flash shield, then mark the position of the rotor arm relative to the distributor, for use when refitting. Alternatively (or if a new rotor is being fitted), set the engine to TDC on No. 1 cylinder, so that the rotor arm points to the notch mark on the distributor body.

I did searches on this board and found a number of articles about how to get the distrbutor cap off and such, but nothing about the rotor positioning. So I assume I just need to install the new rotor in the same position as the old one? Anyone could confirm this?

Thanks!
