Pinking and Rough Idle S80

I have 2000 s80 57000 MILE
Between second and third at lower revs she starts pinking all the time, when the car is cold she has a rough idle vroom vroom vroom vroom, to stop it doing that you have to put her in Neutral and give the throttle a good plunge,
I have had it in the dealers loads of times spent a fortune and they still dont seem to be able to cure it, the check engine light has never come on,
Any ideas anyone.
