good things about the 850 engine..... 850 1995

interior rattle, ac pooping out, and general electrical stuff are the items that are complained about.

the inline-5 modular engine series that volvo developed with the help of technical advice from porsche/audi is one of the most solid engines available out there. sure, it sounds kinda drony...but it sure as hell runs forever. the modular design allows for an extra cylinder be added (for s80 and xc90) or have one lopped off (for non-focus-based-next-gen s/v40)...

the only thing is the max power this engine can take is around 300 hp...things like the connecting rod tend to bend after that...and esp if u put too much torque too early in the powerband...
