2000 V40 badly damaged.

Hi folks....it has been awhile...my beloved V40 had been badly damaged in freeway commute accident....I rammed into an occurring accident.....All front end damage...I must admit I am some to blame for my own damage...I was bit more concerned about the car behind me which did not hit me....anyway....The damage: dash pad and airbag from the passenger air bag blasting, hood and related parts, grill, bumper cover, upper cross member, ac condenser, inter cooler, radiator, headlights and misc. front end body parts....but the fenders are fine and it appears like the lower bumper steel core which is part of the frame is perfect....sounds like it is worth fixing?...but I feel my insurance company might total it.....it has 60,000 miles on it…I was planning on keeping this car for another 3 years then giving it to my god daughter to take to college….but…this happened….after the a collision of this force can it be trusted to be safe again?….I am a fairly good mechanic ( I have done all the maintenance work on this car) but am I getting in over my head in trying to put this one back together considering the tech stuff (air bag, seat belt tensioner, air bag sensors). If it is totaled I was planning on getting a new V70, 2.4 non turbo with a 5 speed manual…….will this car seem too doggy after the great mid range performance of the V40 turbo?…any opinions?
