Reliability of 2004 S80 S80

S80 trans problems have declined since '00 models so yes, by now ('04 models) they're a far better car than they were in their first two years, '99 being the worst by far.
Do I think that ANY new Volvo will last as long as say an older, simpler RWD Volvo that was far less complex and cheaper, easier to maintain? No, but I could be wrong too.
