If my father's 140,000 mile 850 turbo is any indication, (not to mention many reports of higher mileage 850/70 series cars on the board), I'd say that the mechanic is blowing the proverbial smoke. Besides, isn't the 5 cylinder engine nearly identical to the 6 with the exception of one less cylinder?
