Transmission Software-Why? V70-XC70 2000

The SW cures known problems with the trans ECU which also compensates for wear.
The dealer only online service literature explains it in detail but I don't have that in front of me nor have I memorized it.
You're not paying too much when it cures your cars problems and that only the SW can do that. If you went to a tranny shop, they'ld probably sell you a trans overhaul instead.
Beginning in '99 Volvos, there's SW for many things (like a PC) and Volvo can cure many problems now with SW.
