That said, for 1996 and 1998, it's most likely that the result of testing (and I agree, DO the testing - why replace the module if it's something else?) will indicate a faulty ABS controller. Typically, the telltale code is for a bad RR ABS sensor - that's usually the circuit that gets broken when the board cracks.
