rough running and mechanic cant help S80

I took my Volvo 2000 s80 in to complain that at 60000 miles the care ran very rough, almost hestitaion form 40-60mph. the dealer spent all day on it and didnt charge me because he could find nothing. no lights or diagnostics were tripped. he is at a loss. i love the car, but am considering selling it. i have had volvos for years but will go with bmw or benz. if volvo cant fix their own flagship car it might be time to move on.
