Bad Radio Reception S70 2000

Mike,

Yeah, there is something weird about the radio reception and that is a real cop-out on Volvo's part if they are unwilling to confess to making a crappy reciever. I know for a fact that many newer Volvo's have this problem and I would like to know if there is any way to fix it. I also know that for the 850 wagon the antenna was built into the A-pillar up front, similar to the old 240's but inside, and they came with a built-in reciever amplifier and I'm wondering if we could buy that part and install it on our current antenna? I'd have to ask a Volvo dealership but something really should be done about the radio - because for a car that cost as much as it did - the radio should sound better than that! Get back to me if you find any leads on this story.
