Difficult to replace ABS control unit myself? Other ABS questions, please help! 850 1996

Thanks trey for pointing to my website.
Difficulty level. Same as changing brake pads. The only problem is the limited space specially if your 850 has turbo.
A new or junkyard unit will eventually fail as the original did. They have the same design problem.
ABS controller fail for 4 main reasons. Undersized components (when used as traction control), poor design, vibration and heating and cooling cycles.
50K to 100K miles is the life expectancy of the ABS controller.
The first one I repaired and re-designed has been in operation for 2 years and about 30K in my wife's V70. I expect it to last for the rest of the life of the car.
In my instructions I provide the installation and "reset" instructions. No need to get friendly with the dealer (at least not for this job).
