Volvo felt that a constant reminder of the turbo was a sales negative (customers worry about the expense of repair given their previous less-than-stellar history). Today's ECU-managed turbos last longer, and ECU management means you don't have to monitor the gauge all the time to hold down heat and detect overboost.
So I put one in anyway, the VDO gauge which pretty well matches theinstruments already in the car (also manufactured by VDO). I put it just ahead of the shifter in the center console. I preferred this to the A-pillar location. If I get real ambitious I'll add the EGT gauge to match it.
