RainX on Windshield Wiper S70

This problem isn't really exclusive to Volvos but thought I'd ask here anyway. I recently applied RainX to my car's windows and windshield (as I have done for almost a dozen years). This particular time, I inadvertently used a paper towel with RainX on it to the wipe the rubber blade of the driver's side windshield wiper. Now, that wiper 'skips' along the windshield as it completes its sweep. It still makes contact with the windshield, cleans evenly/smoothly and the wipers are in good shape (aftermarket blades less then 3 months old) but I'm concerned that this 'skipping' might damage the wiper motor. Am I worrying about nothing? Will the RainX on the blade just wear off in a month or so?

I have tried wiping the rubber blade with rubbing alcohol but it doesn't help. Any ideas aside fom replacing that blade?
