i would get the AC checked out before charging.it may not need charging and you would do damage to your EXPENSIVE compressor if you do charge it when it is already fine.it could be something like a door in the dash not closing all the way and letting heat from heater core in the car along with the cold AC air.thus making it not as cold.over charging creates too much head pressure at the compressor and causes the seals to fail.
