There is a way to couple/decouple the hatchdoor lock from the other doors, i.e., you can control it from by the key in the driver's door or make it independent. It's in the user manual. Anyways, it involves turning the lock in the hatch door by 90degrees to horizontal (or vertical) position - don't remember which.
