I tend to disagree with you. Anyone in their right mind that owns one of these babies that has a clutch or auto tranny worked on would be outright stupid not to have their rear main seal replaced while the tranny is out. It is a $12 part that takes a minute to replace once you're in there. Otherwise it is a $1000 job later. I'd rather run the risk of a new gasket failing than my old one hanging on and then splitting and sparying oil all over my new clutch. This is smart PM if you ask me. Waterpump, it depends on mileage and how frequently your system was flushed, but for $150-$175 for the part, after a lot of miles, it might make sense to some.
