Automatic Tran - PNP Switch & Backup Lights 850 1995

Same issue with my 850 a few months ago. Mine failed inspection and I was in the same boat as you. I thought I had it fixed my jiggling the selector switch so I went back to the inspection station..long story short it failed again.

If it was a 240......... it's a non issue it can easily be replaced, however the 850 PNP is buried down deep on the right side of the engine.

Final damage was $360 parts and labor, sorry to say but it did pass inspection.
