My 95 did exactly the same thing. I think I went 600 miles between clearing codes and resetting the light and 400 the second. 435 is "front 02 sensor slow to respond." I ended up replacing mine, $120 from FCPGroton.com, and after commuting a couple of days I was able to clear all the 435 codes and kill the CEL. No problems since, and like you, no driveability problems but I thought it should be replaced.
