Check Engine Light - No Code 850 1995

At last, after more than a year, my check engine light has been extinguished. There was in fact a code showing for the transmission - I had the diagnostic jumper in the wrong socket - I cleaned the connector and it hasn't returned... then again, maybe the bulb finally burned out. Thanks for the suggestions.
