Check Volvospeed.com under repairs/maitenance section for 231/232 fault code repair. No you don't have to lift your car. The Intercooler piping is the "S" piping that come over top of the engine. There are two rubber pieces on the IC. One in the middle and one at the bottom. Look for smoke coming out through any holes. I had a hole in the middle rubber piece on the IC. I replaced it and it solve my 231 fault code.
