I've always kept records & notes on all my maintenance for my vehicles. It's just my filing system that really needs help. Getting ready for an Observed Trials event I hate it when I can't find the notes I took last winter regarding the venue, weather, carb jets, needle position, suspension settings, etc. Or if I make changes at an Trial and don't document (time is short) I'll never remember what I did 3 days later in the garage. Is the 120 or 125 in? 2nd or 4th notch for the needle etc.
I've modified my oil change intervals to fit my diminishing mental capacities. Instead of 3,000 miles, now it's every 5,000. 70, 75, 80, 85 etc. Rotate tires, check suspension & brakes every 10k. It works.
BTW, the Trials references were to AHRMA Vintage Trials where I ride a '76 Montesa 348 Cota.
