hello
I had my 97 850 glt turbo inspected on monday and i passed the test, but this is what i did to get through it.
1. check engine light was on, code was for a gross leak in the fuel evap system. light has been on for a while now and i can not find the vacume leak.
2. used my OBD-2 scanner to reset the light on Sunday before the test.
3. went to emissions test station monday and they did the OBDII test and system showed that 4 or 5 systems were "NOT READY" including the evap system that triggers the check engine light.
4. guy at test station told me "Volvos have a weird computer system, and sometimes they see the Not Ready status" but he said this is common on volvo's and the car passed the test.
5. was issued new sticker, paid, and went on my way.
6. Check Engine light came back on Tuesday after the driving cycles were complete.
The scanner allowed me to pass the test. I also did the same thing with my wifes ford it also passed the test.
this is technically cheating but as long as I get the Emissions test passed i do not mind cheating the Gov't, hell they cheat us everyday so a little pay back once in a while is good.
